Symptoms

In AnyBackup, when you try to backup Oracle database, it fails. And under Execution Output window, you can see the errors:

ORA-07391: sftopn: fopen error, unable to open text file.

Impact

Oracle database backup job fails.

Cause

When executing Oracle backup job on AnyBackup console, the directory /anyorascript will be created automatically under /root of client server. The permission is 777 by default. If the permission is modified manually, Oracle backup job will fail with the error ORA-07391.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, modify the permission of directory /anyorascript to 777, please follow the steps below:

1.    Run the command below to confirm the permission of directory /anyorascript.

ls -l / | grep anyorascript

2.    Execute the following command to modify the permission of directory /anyorascript to 777.

chmod 777 /anyorascript

3.    Start the Oracle backup job again on AnyBackup console.

The directory /anyorascript is mainly used to store scripts and other information generated during backup.
