AnyBackup-Microsoft SQL Server expand the data sources fails with error:(local) instance does not start.

Symptoms

In AnyBackup, when you try to expand SQL Server data sources, it fails and prompts the following error:

(local) instance does not start.

 

 

Impact

Failed to expand the data sources of SQL Server database in AnyBackup.

 

Cause

AnyBackup Console is unable to acquire SQL Server data sources while the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service is not running.

Note: As shown in the following steps, the service name is SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) for example.

 

Resolution

To resolve this issuemake sure SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service is running, if not, please follow the steps below to start the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service:

1.      Log in to the target Windows operating system.

2.      Click Start, open SQL Server Configuration Manager.

3.      Click SQL Server Services, select SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service and right-click, then click Start to start SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service.
